CONSTRUCTION COMMENCEMENT NOTICE
January 2015
Beginning on January 5th, 2015 the City will begin rehabilitating sewers in your neighborhood. Please note that the City is rehabilitating the sewers on Hartman Crescent using the Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) process, a no-dig method of sewer pipe repair. This process is less disruptive than traditional sewer rehabilitation methods and will be less disruptive in your neighbourhood.
WHO: The City of Ottawa awarded the Contractor, Clean Water Works, to complete the work.
WHY: The Contractor and the City of Ottawa will be lining the sewer, which requires rehabilitation due to its age and condition, using a Cured-In-Place Pipe process.
WHAT: Work will involve the repair of the sewer using a Cured-In-Place Pipe process that minimizes the inconveniences usually associated with open-cut sewer repair.
WHEN: This work is tentatively planned to begin around 8:00 am on Monday January 5th, 2015. Completion is anticipated before 5:30 p.m. on Friday January 9th, 2015. This schedule is weather dependent.
WHERE: The storm and sanitary sewers on Hartman Crescent.
Traffic
Minor traffic impacts on Hartman Crescent may occur during the lining process.
Noise
Some noise may take place throughout the duration of the proposed work, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Odour
Please note that you may notice some odour as this work takes place; this is a result of the synthetic resin used for curing the sewer lining material. This is normal for this type of activity and the odours are harmless.
