Overnight work on Trillium Line: July 6-7, 2016

UPDATE – July 6, 2016 – Due to forecasted thunderstorms this evening, the application of an organic herbicide along the tracks of the Trillium Line will be postponed to next week.

~~

Please be advised of upcoming maintenance work to be completed along the O-Train Trillium Line.

Commencing the evening of July 6, 2016 and ending at approximately 5:00am on July 7, 2016, contracted professionals from Asplundh Canada will complete the application of an organic herbicide along the tracks of the entire Trillium Line. This is the same organic herbicide which has been used in previous years for vegetation control.

This work is required as per Transport Canada’s Rules Respecting Track Safety, to ensure that there are no sight line issues or obstructions for train operators. These efforts help promote the safe operation of the O-Train Trillium Line.

Please note that this work is weather dependant and thus could be delayed should the weather not permit on these days. While there are no expected noise impacts for area residents, the City of Ottawa will be issuing an email to a distribution list of residents who have expressed an interest in being informed of overnight work. Furthermore, posters will be mounted at all Stations along the Trillium Line to inform customers of the work.

Should you wish to be added to this email distribution list, please give my office a call at 613-580-2486.
