SUMMARY:Norberry Residences Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Norberry Crescent Development Public Meeting \nI have recently met with representatives of the Norberry Apartments\, along with the RPCRA President and Vice President\, about their expansion plans. I am hosting a public meeting for residents on Thursday\, November 9 in the main sanctuary of the Riverside Churches\, 3191 Riverside Drive. This will provide any interested residents the opportunity to learn more about the revised development plans for the site. The public meeting will begin with an open house at 7:00pm followed by a presentation and QandA session for residents 7:30pm. \nThe plan still calls for three separate apartment buildings to be constructed\, however they are now slightly lower in height. The proposal will also incorporate a new reinforced parking garage structure for residents who wish to continue to use that facility. \nIf you are unable to make it to either of the public meetings and would like to meet with me separately\, I am always available to meet with residents or community groups. SUMMARY:Heron Road separated cycling facilities (Data Centre Road to Bank Street) Functional Design Study
DESCRIPTION:Although the project limits for this functional design study do not fall within River Ward\, many residents may find the design of these new cycling facilities of interest\, given their proximity. \nProject P1-19 is listed in the 2013 Ottawa Cycling Plan as segregated cycling facilities in the Heron Road corridor between Data Centre Road and Alta Vista Drive\, in support of a Cross-town Bikeway.  \nThe City successfully applied for assistance from the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF) to undertake the design of the facilities with 50% dollars coming from the federal government.  This current project is identified as PTIF-41 and will take us to the detailed design stage.  Design completion deadline is March 31/18 under PTIF requirements.  \nFunding to construct the facilities has not yet been identified/committed. \nThe city is planning a Public Open House on the functional design as follows: \nMonday November 27/17\n6:30pm – 8:30pm\nJim Durrell Rec Centre – Elwood Hall\n \nResidents are invited and encouraged to attend and provide their feedback on this cycling infrastructure project.

DESCRIPTION:In 2008\, Schedule 26 to the Licensing By-law 2002-189 relating to rooming houses was harmonized to apply City-wide\, and included definitions of “residential use building”\, “rooming house”\, “rooming house\, converted”\, “rooming house owner”\, and “rooming unit”. \nA couple of issues with respect to rooming house licensing were raised as part of the By-law Review Strategy approved by Council in 2015. This review therefore focuses on those issues\, which include: the definition of rooming house\, as well as the identification of illegal rooming houses. \nInformation for Constituents \n\nAn on-line consultation is being hosted on Ottawa.ca over the coming weeks\nAn in-person workshop will take place:\n\nMcNabb Recreation Centre\nAssembly Hall\nWednesday\, February 21st 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.\n  \nInput is being collected in a variety of convenient ways for residents and other stakeholders to share their views.  Participants are encouraged to review the Discussion Paper and complete the on-line survey  available on Ottawa.ca.  \nThe consultation phase of the review process is currently underway\, and includes the following: \nInternal Staff Consultations \n\nE-mail notifications to be sent to all General Managers\, Ottawa Public Health.\nConsultations to include By-law Enforcement Officers; Planning\, Infrastructure and Economic Development; Fire Services; Building Code Services; Housing.\n\n Public and Stakeholder Consultation \n\nOver 500 external stakeholders are being invited to participate and comment.\nStaff will also meet with key stakeholders accordingly\, to ensure their input thoroughly informs the review process. Elle définissait notamment les termes « bâtiment à utilisation résidentielle »\, « maison de chambres »\, « maison convertie en maison de chambres »\, « propriétaire d’une maison de chambres » et « chambre ». \nDepuis\, des questions ont été soulevées quant aux permis de maison de chambres dans le cadre de la Stratégie de révision des règlements municipaux approuvée par le Conseil en 2015. Cette révision porte donc surtout sur ces questions\, comme la définition d’une maison de chambre et le repérage des maisons de chambres illégales. \nInformation pour les résidents \n\nUne consultation se tiendra dans les prochaines semaines sur le site ottawa.ca.\nUn atelier en personne aura lieu :\n\nCentre récréatif McNabb\nSalle d’assemblée\nLe mercredi 21 février\, de 18 h 30 à 20 h\n  \nNous réunirons les commentaires en faisant appel à différents moyens qui seront pratiques pour les résidents et les autres intervenants et qui leur permettront d’exprimer leur point de vue. Les participants sont encouragés à lire le document de travail et à répondre au sondage en ligne accessibles sur ottawa.ca.  \nL’étape de consultation du processus de révision est en cours et comprend les consultations suivantes : \nConsultations à l’interne auprès du personnel \n\nDes avis par courriel seront envoyés à tous les directeurs généraux de Santé publique Ottawa.\nParticiperont aux consultations les agents d’application des règlements municipaux\, la Direction générale de la planification\, de l’infrastructure et du développement économique\, le Service des incendies\, les Services du Code du bâtiment et les Services du logement.\n\nConsultation de la population et des intervenants \n\nPlus de 500 intervenants externes seront invités à y participer et à faire des commentaires.\nLe personnel rencontrera aussi les principaux intervenants\, selon le cas\, pour veiller à ce que l’on tienne bien compte de leurs commentaires dans le processus de révision.
