VIA Rail Canada update on WASS siding project

VIA Rail Canada update on WASS siding project

Dear Residents,

I would like to share with you the following update received from VIA Rail Canada on the work being conducted in River Ward.

– Riley

Update on Wass siding project:

As committed in the public meeting on May 21, 2015, VIA Rail Canada commits to keeping residents informed of the progress of work on the siding project at Wass (Riverside Park area).

Construction activity is ongoing and the commissioning of the siding is set to take place in the coming weeks. The signal work is anticipated to take place on the evening of Saturday, August 29th until Sunday morning, August 30th. If necessary, work will resume Sunday night, August 30th, and continue until Monday morning, August 31st. Although we do not anticipate any significant noise to be generated from this work, VIA Rail Canada’s contractor – Sersa Total Track – has submitted a noise by-law exemption to the City of Ottawa.

All of these estimated dates remain tentative and subject to revision, change and/or adjustment, if required. Unpredictable constraints that can affect the construction schedule include but are not limited to weather conditions, technical problems and machinery problems.

Once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in contact me with directly.
