Airport Parkway Resurfacing and Culvert Replacement – Night Construction Notice

Airport Parkway Resurfacing and Culvert Replacement – Night Construction Notice

July 2018

Dear Resident,

Beginning late July 2018, the City of Ottawa will begin night time construction work in your neighbourhood. This work is being undertaken to rehabilitate infrastructure in your community.  Thank you for your cooperation.

WHO:           The Contractor, R.W. Tomlinson Ltd., will be performing the construction work for the City of Ottawa.

WHY:            Due to age and condition of the existing culverts and roadway surface, the City will be proceeding with the rehabilitation of this infrastructure.

WHAT:          The upcoming construction project will include the replacement of four culverts, and re-paving of the roadway surface on the Airport Parkway from Hunt Club to Brookfield, as well as on the ramps at Hunt Club, Walkley, and Brookfield.  This project also includes the widening of the paved shoulder from 1.5 to 2.0m.

WHERE:        Airport Parkway from Hunt Club Road to Brookfield Road, including the ramps at Brookfield Road, Walkley Road, and Hunt Club Road.

WHEN:         This work is planned to begin late July 2018, weather permitting, with final completion by the end of October 2018.

In order to minimize traffic disruptions, all work will occur at night between the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00am.  During these times, the Airport Parkway will be reduced to one lane, with flagging operations for traffic control.  The work on the ramps will require a 2-3 night closure each and signed detours will be in place at those times.

 Accessibility

Accessibility is an important consideration for the City of Ottawa. The City makes every effort to provide access through and around construction sites. If you require special accommodation, please contact the City’s Project Coordinator or the Contractor’s Representative.

 Construction Disruptions

R.W. Tomlinson Ltd. will take every precaution to minimize interruptions to the normal life of your family and / or operation of your business, but as you can appreciate, there may be some inconvenience during the course of the operation of the work.  We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.
