Councillor Riley Brockington and Councillor Diane Deans to lead 2nd Safety Audit of the Airport Parkway Pedestrian Bridge and connecting Pathways.
On February 3rd, 2015, Councillors Diane Deans and Riley Brockington led a group of residents, city officials and OC Transpo personnel on a safety audit of the Airport Parkway Pedestrian Bridge and surrounding pathways. The second and final walk-through will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 to get a summer perspective of the area.
The two audits, as well as an earlier meeting with city stakeholders, have been conducted as a follow-up to communications received from concerned residents. City stakeholders and OC Transpo officials have been engaged in this process and a full report will be available to residents following the current review.
WHO: Councillors Riley Brockington and Diane Deans, city staff and local residents
WHAT: Safety audit along bridge and connecting pathways to the transit station.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015, 7pm (meeting at Plante and Cahill intersection at 6:45pm)
WHERE: Beginning at the Cahill Drive/Plante Drive pathway entrance, they will walk the route over the Airport Parkway Pedestrian Bridge to the South Keys Transit Station.
WHY: As a proactive approach to community concerns, Councillors Brockington and Deans will lead local residents along the pathways and collect comments on safety issues. City of Ottawa Corporate Security staff, Ottawa Community Police and local residents will all be able to contribute to the audit process.
