City serving up available street-food spaces for 2019

Ottawa – The City is calling for proposals to occupy 22 available on-street food spaces in 2019.

There are 10 cart spaces and 12 truck spaces available. The list of available locations can be found on ottawa.ca.

A volunteer street-food selection panel, made up of representatives from the food and hospitality industry and from Ottawa Public Health, will evaluate proposals. Applicants are encouraged to incorporate innovation and diversity in their menu offerings. Successful applicants will be chosen on the basis of the following criteria:

  • proposed menu
  • business plan
  • level of vendor experience
  • overall contribution to Ottawa’s food scene

The deadline to apply for a space is Friday, January 4, 2019 at 4:30 pm. Successful applicants will be offered spaces in early 2019, with their operations expected to roll out in May 2019.

The City will hold an information session for prospective applicants on Monday, December 10, at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive. To receive an information package and to reserve your space at the information session, please call 3-1-1 or email bio1stop@ottawa.ca.
