Commence Work Order – Interim Cycling Facility on Carling Avenue

The City of Ottawa will be commencing work on interim cycling facilities on Carling Avenue between Bayswater and Bronson. The interim cycling facilities were requested to provide cycling facilities on Carling Avenue until the main Carling Avenue project between Bayswater to Bronson introduces a Bus Rapid Transit lane with cycle tracks and MUPs on the north and south side of the street.  The curb lane on both sides of the road will be a shared facility.

The project scope includes interim cycling facilities on Carling Avenue between Bayswater and Bronson.  The new cycling facilities will include new paint markings (sharrows) and signage between the project limits and a connection to Dow’s Lake Road.

The main Carling Avenue BRT project is currently in the preliminary design stages without a committed construction date.
