Mayor Watson to host Family Day Skating Party on Sens Rink of Dreams

2016 MayorParty_PosterOttawa – Mayor Jim Watson invites everyone to attend the Family Day Skating Party on the Sens Rink of Dreams at City Hall on Monday, February 15 (Family Day) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The party will feature many of your favourite local mascots, free family activities, as well as light snacks and refreshments.

Make your way inside City Hall to the Council Chambers (Andrew Haydon Hall) for a musical performance by the cast of Freezing. The 15-minute performance will take place every hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and will feature Hanna, Krisco, Rubble and Hans performing Let it Snow, Sisters and Cold Hands Warm Hearts.

You also won’t want to miss:

  • Thinkfirst, Ottawa Chapter, providing assistance with helmet fitting
  • Wallacks craft table
  • Ottawa 2017 exhibit
  • Ringette Canada shootout
  • Museum of Science and Technology’s Technosnow exhibit

Parking at City Hall is only $2 for the day on weekends and holidays. Or, take the OLG Sno-bus to City Hall between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the last day of Winterlude.

The Sens Rink of Dreams features LED lighting, a heated change hut, picnic tables and benches. It operates annually from November to March from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. While at City Hall, you can also visit the Barbara Ann Scott exhibit, the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame and the Karsh-Masson Gallery.
