09 Dec Hydro Ottawa improvements coming to Walkley/McCarthy area

Electrical service improvements through Hydro Ottawa will be undertaking in River Ward starting the week of December 8, 2014. The project involves replacing aging hydro poles located on Southmore Drive, Stanstead Road, Hyde Street, Marcel Street, Provost Drive, Thorndale Drive, Linton Road, Garwood Avenue and Rand Avenue. This project will improve the reliability of the electrical distribution system in the Walkley and McCarthy area.
Work on this project is scheduled to commence as of December 8, 2014 and will continue until the fall of 2015. Residents will notice an increased construction presence throughout the duration of the project, including excavation activities. In order to minimize noise concerns, they will ensure that work is completed weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Traffic control will be implemented when required in order to ensure that roads and driveways remain accessible and safe to residents. Their qualified staff and contractors will conduct this work safely and efficiently, ensuring that any inconvenience is minimal.
