O-Train/Trillium Line – System Acceptance Testing

O-Train/Trillium Line – System Acceptance Testing

Please be advised that System Acceptance Testing (SAT) of the Expanded O-Train/Trillium Line will begin as early as Sunday, January 18, 2015. SAT is being implemented to identify any unforeseen issues that require debugging and adjusting and for Light Rail Operator (LRO) familiarization. This testing lasting approximately 4 weeks will take place overnights Sundays through Wednesdays, without any passengers, simulating expanded service. This critical phase is required to ensure operator familiarity with the train controls and new signalling system. During this time ‘event scenarios’ will be simulated to test the responses of OC Transpo staff and Centralized Traffic Control system to potential real life situations.

Following the successful completion of SAT a 1 week shutdown of the O-Train/Trillium Line will be required prior to the launch of the new Trillium Line’s new expanded revenue service.

Please note that as per normal operations, Capital Rail will be continuing with their regular maintenance of the rail corridor throughout SAT.
