With the arrival of April, I certainly look forward to warmer days ahead. The wintry blast of snow and ice this past weekend was a reminder that our weather this time of year is unpredictable.
The pothole crews have been out, repairing our roads, which will be followed by the street sweeping crews. It takes time to get to every street. If your front or side lawn was damaged by a snowplow, please let me know and provide your address. Public Works crews will be out later this spring to repair damaged lawns.
As a reminder, please know that creeks, rivers and waterways are swollen with fast moving water, keep a close eye on little ones.
There are a number of special events on the calendar this month: Eid Al-Fitr (March 29 to April 1), Sikh Heritage Month (April 1-30), Passover (April 13-20), Good Friday (April 18), River Ward Community Breakfast (April 19), Easter (April 20), Earth Day (April 22), River Ward Earth Day Event (April 26) and Federal Election Day (April 28).
