River Ward Community Update

Dear friends and neighbours of River Ward,

When August rolls around every year, I can’t help but think of local corn on the cob and the Ottawa Exhibition.  I miss the Ex. I miss the parade, rides, games, the agricultural component, the shows and carnival food.  It gave us something to look forward to as we entered August and also realized the days before we returned to school were numbered.

COVID’s grip has ensured that large outdoor events for the second summer in a row are effectively cancelled.  Last month, the Ottawa Lebanese Festival offered a 4-day Lebanese Kitchen, offering delicious meals and snacks to take home or eat under the tent.  This month, GreekFest will offer a similar service from August 13-15 and 20-22.  The Hellenic Centre is located at 1315 Prince of Wales Drive.  Please support River Ward’s festivals.  I expect that next summer will be a festival season like no other. 
I plan to unwind this week with my daughters, August 2-7, and will be pleased to get back in the action upon my return.  My fabulous staff may assist you at any time.
