There has been no shortage of heat and sunshine this summer and I expect August will not disappoint. The evenings may get a bit cooler later in to the month, but still an amazing time to enjoy our ward and City.
Mark your calendar Carlington, Raven Park Day, our annual celebration in Raven Park will be held on Friday August 8. All are welcome. All local residents have received a postcard via Canada Post that provides a detailed outline of the event. The community tables and tradeshow are from 4-7pm, community bbq 4:36-6:30pm and Company of Fools will be back for A Comedy of Errors at 7pm. My tremendous thanks to the Carlington Community Association for partnering with me to make this event happen. On July 17, I testified before the Standing Committee of Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy regarding proposed legislation, Bill 9, that intends to strengthen Codes of Conduct rules for members of municipal Councils and establish a mechanism to remove a member for the most egregious cases of inappropriate behaviour. The proposed legislation is reasonable and I offered comments to modify some components to make it even better. …
