Dear friends and neighbours of River Ward,
Some of us, myself included, may find it hard to concentrate this month, good weather is here, summer starts in a few weeks and school children look forward to the end of the month.
On June 18, we will celebrate and appreciate our love for fathers, grandfathers, uncles and special men in our lives. Best wishes to everyone celebrating on this day.
Tonight I am hosting a Hydro Ottawa presentation, Keeping Ottawa Connected and the City of Ottawa comes to River Ward on June 7 to host their in-person consultation on the revised Wildlife Management Strategy, an initiative I pushed and received City Council approval for last year, after elevated human-coyote interactions in 2022. See more information below.
A special congratulations to all students graduating this month, whether it be from high school or from an elementary or intermediate school, this is a fun month to celebrate our talented local graduates.
River Ward’s big festivals start this month with the DragonBoat Festival at Mooeny’s Bay Park. Special parking restrictions will be implemented on approximately 20 local streets until mid-August. A handy table listing all large special events and festivals held in the ward can be found on the final page of this e-newsletter.
Take good care
Riley Brockington
