09 Jan Site Plan Application for 1900-1910 Bank Street
The City of Ottawa’s Planning Department has received a Site Plan Control Application for the property at 1900-1910 Bank Street. The subject property is a vacant piece of land on the west side of Bank Street, approximately 225m south of Walkley Road and adjacent to the Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill. The purpose of the application is to permit the development of a Starbucks Coffee Shop on the same legal parcel of land, south of the Swiss Chalet. The proposal conforms with the Zoning By-law and the Official Plan. There is no zoning amendment required to allow this development to proceed.
The Starbucks will have a drive-through facility and a patio. The building will be set close to Bank Street and will incorporate a modern façade with extensive glazing and a variety of quality materials that will be a compatible and an attractive addition to the existing streetscape, filling the void between the Swiss Chalet to the north and the retail plaza to the south.
Residents are able to view the site plan application as well as the accompanying reports and documents at the following link. The City of Ottawa Planner Melanie Gervais is currently collecting public comments and feedback on the site plan proposal. Please feel free to share any comments or concerns on the proposal with myself and the City Planner at Melanie.Gervais@Ottawa.ca.
Deadline for comments is Friday, February 8.
