14 Oct McCarthy Road Rock Rehabilitation

Beginning this fall, the City of Ottawa will start construction work on the McCarthy Road Rock Rehabilitation project from Walkley Road to Provost Drive. This work is being done to address the removal of loose rock on the east and west sides of McCarthy Road between Walkley Road to Provost Drive.
WHO: The Contractor, 1590486 Ontario Inc. G.M. Contracting will complete the work.
WHY: The City of Ottawa will be proceeding with rock scaling operations to remove loose rock that may fall onto the road or sidewalk which would pose a risk to the public.
WHERE: McCarthy Road from Walkley Road to Provost Drive.
WHAT: Work will include:
- Rock scaling by hand and with the use of heavy machinery.
- Lane reductions will be required during off peak hours and a traffic control plan will be in place to ensure pedestrian and vehicle traffic flows safely around the construction zone.
WHEN: Work will begin this fall and will last for a few weeks. The contractor will stage the construction over this time, so work areas will change as operations are initiated and completed.
