| Dear friends and neighbours of River Ward, Happy October! Look at those leaves slowly turn. By the end of this month, few will remain on the trees. Enjoy this glorious month, by getting outside and exploring River Ward’s natural beauty. Wishing you and your family the very best as many families will gather to celebrate Thanksgiving (October 9) and Halloween (October 31). City Hall offices will be closed on October 2 to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation which was on Saturday (September 30).Almost two months ago, several streets in River Ward and in other urban wards, experienced significant flooding due to exceptionally heavy rains that spanned hours. This caused extensive damage to many homes. Please see below for more information on this matter. As a reminder, on Fridays, I work from the Ward Office which is located in the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Centre (3320 Paul Anka Drive) and I welcome residents for various meetings, to discuss whatever you like. | River Ward Electronic Waste Depot November 4 l 10:00am – 4:00pm Junk That Funk will be collecting e-waste in the parking lot behind the Metro grocery store at 3310 McCarthy Road. Enter through the Paul Anka Drive Entrance. If you can come a bit later in the day, we recommend doing so to avoid long wait times and traffic. E-Waste materials accepted: televisions, desktop computers and terminals, monitors, laptop computers, desktop printers, fax machines, disk drives, CD-ROM drives, keyboards and mice, amplifiers, stereos, speakers, receivers, cameras, digital cameras, copiers, fax machines, scanners, pagers, radios, telephones, cellphones, answering machines, VCR and DVD players.
