Happy September!
On August 21, I welcomed City staff from the Water Infrastructure Services team to River Ward for an afternoon tour of sections of residential neighbourhoods that have been hit hard by recent summer storms, resulting in water penetration to many local homes. My goal is simple: make the City aware of hard hit areas, understand what happened to cause so many homes to be flooded and develop a plan outlining how the City can make necessary modifications to their infrastructure, where warranted, as well as other modifications and improvements to both public and private properties.
September is a busy month, local students are back in school, the federal government’s Return to Office (RTO) plan is in place and we are seeing greater volumes of commuters on the roads and public transit. Mark your calendar now…the Hunt Club Community Association invites you to attend the annual Hunt Club Festival on Saturday September 12 from Noon to 5pm, followed by a community bbq until 8pm in McCarthy Park.
