Happy Canada Day!
Wishing you and your family a great day and I hope your celebrations are safe and enjoyable. If you are headed downtown and/or to Lebreton Flats, take public transit, it is free all day and extra service is added for anticipated higher volumes of passengers.
The discharge of fireworks is not permitted on City property. If you are going to enjoy fireworks tonight, please do so responsibly.
The water infrastructure renewal project for Apeldoorn and Arnhem starts now on Arnhem. Local residents will experience major construction work on these two streets in 2025 and 2026. Two public meetings have been hosted and the City is in direct contact with local residents. Please reach out if my office can be of assistance.
Water infrastructure renewal will also commence this summer on Viscount, Veteran and Harrold. Similar to the outreach with local residents on Apeldoorn and Arnhem, construction will begin in 2025 and continue in 2026.
We have had a hot start to summer and this will continue through July. River Ward has many wading pools, splash pads and Mooney’s Bay Beach to enjoy. My office has developed the annual wading pool hours and fun day schedule which we can share with you on demand, please reach out to my office.
I will be working from the Ward Office in the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Centre for the majority of the summer, as soon as I return from a week off on July 8. You are most welcome to pop in for a visit and chat or call ahead to reserve some time for a longer conversation.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer.
