05 Aug VIA Rail Canada Notice : Upcoming maintenance (night work) in River Ward
Dear residents,
I would like to share with you the following information sent to me today regarding upcoming corrective maintenance work that will be taking place starting tomorrow night, August 6, 2015.
VIA Rail Canada Update – August 5, 2015
Along the red path indicated on the map below, VIA Rail will be carrying out surfacing work on the track to ensure the safety of the infrastructure. As before with the rail tie replacement, the machinery will be progressing along as the work is done and will not be static behind any single location for extended periods of time. It is anticipated this work will begin around 11pm and complete around 2am on Thursday, August 6th. A noise by-law exemption has been submitted for this work.
In addition, similar work will be done in the area west of the Wass siding track (as indicated in the red path on the map below), starting around 11pm and completing around 4am on Friday, August 7th.
A noise by-law exemption has been submitted, however, disturbance to residents in this area is not expected as it is relatively uninhabited.
If you have any questions regarding this work, please contact Pamela O’Leary, Senior Advisor, Government and Community Relations at 613.907.8355 or by email at pamela_o’leary@viarail.ca.
